Love doesn't Die A Natural Death

Love is eternal. It cannot die. Love is even "stronger than the grave."(Solomon) No, it can't die a natural death. But it can be killed. It can be killed as a result of betrayal, indifference, jealousy, ignorance, selfishness, lack of respect, neglect, inattention, taking things for granted, and failure to give. You must give, if you must love. Love is not just a fact or a feeling; it is an act. Yes, you must give. One can give without loving; but one cannot love without giving. If love dies; it's death was caused by a sickness; or maybe it starved to death because it refused to give. It didn't die a natural death; it doesn't do that.

Its' Just "Stuff"

Some of us are guilty of hoarding, keeping, and collecting things that would best be thrown away. They take up space. They can cause a house to look like a pig sty. Perhaps many of us have tendencies to save and collect. I guess there is nothing wrong with wanting to hold on to certain things: favorite sweaters, books, and magazines. Or maybe souvenirs, mementos and keepsakes. Boxes, jackets, toys, gadgets,
tools, clothes, sports equipment, and the list goes on. Somebody told me once: "If I don't use it for one year; it goes in the trash." What about photographs, paintings and other objects of art? Its' just "stuff." Yes,some may say, but some "stuff" is valuable. Sell it, then. What about jewelry? The good thing about jewelry is that it does not take up too much space. The bad thing about jewelry is if it is very valuable it needs to be well hidden; and it can cause the owner to be paranoid. Some people steal, kill, maim and destroy to obtain stuff. Stuff is attractive. Stuff is valuable. How about those people who lost absolutely everything but the clothes on their backs in fires, floods and other disasters? Some were actually happy. How could they possibly be happy? They were alive. The rest is just "stuff."

A Few More Words About Jealousy

The Bible says: "Jealousy is the rage of a man." I have seen this play out time and time again. Intelligence does not necessarily prevent a man from being jealous. Jealousy is an emotion that intelligence cannot control, because jealousy comes from the heart. It is a powerful emotion. It causes a great deal of harm. Jealousy does not rest. It attacks using vicious words, schemes, and violence. Sarcasm and verbal abuse are the tools often used. Jealousy is an evil spirit. It is a poison. The best defense against it is prayer. Prayer sets in motion superior spirits that perform miracles. Great things start to happen; to the poisoned and to the poisoner.
