Planned Parenthood And Abortions

The killing of innocent children is being subsidized by the American taxpayer via abortion, whether we want to or not. .  Abortion is big business for PP.  Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in the United States.  They plan to gain from expanded abortions.  334,000 abortions were performed by Planned Parenthood in 2011, an increase of about 5000 from the year before.  Numbers for the year 2012 are complete, but PP is not in any hurry to disseminate the information due to the fact that they know that they are in a ghoulish, grisly, perverted, gruesome, repugnant, hideous, horrific  and ghastly, blood-stained business.  But it is also big business for Planned Parenthood.  Pregnant women need to stay away from Planned Parenthood offices.  They will be encouraged to get abortions.

Punks Don't Call The Shots

I know that some  criminals are very dangerous people.  Some of them are slightly insane (and some not so slightly).  Some people do not work so they depend on others.  Some people do not work so they steal.  Some people are angry so they terrorize.  Some people do not have it in them to leave people alone.  Society adjusts.  People adjust.  Nevertheless, I see absolutely no reason for people who just want to go about their business, without harming others to be held hostage by the disrespectful, and  because of the fear that they have of criminals. "Do not harm others" is an excellent creed to live by.  We know that not all people live by that code.  I believe that those who fail to respect the rights and safety of others must suffer legal consequences for their actions.  Maybe they will learn to not continue down that road.  Obviously it would benefit society.  Most of us have heard the two following quotes regarding gun control:  "If guns are outlawed, then only outlaws will have guns."  I agree with that statement.  It is common sense.  Another one I heard recently is:  "The only way to stop bad guys with guns is by having good guys with guns."  I know it is not a perfect world and that mistakes are made. We do not live in a "mistake free" world, but I also agree with the second quote.  I do not own a gun and I do not plan to own one.  However, I do not want guns taken away from responsible, law-abiding people who want to own them.  My thanks to Jeff Snyder and Liberty-Tree quotes for the following quote that was made back in 1994.

"But to ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow. ... For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding."

True Education.........Just A Thought

It is an ideal.  It is a goal that is extremely difficult to always reach.  Think about this.  A genuine formal education should be designed to make the student not equal and not standardized.  An excellent education should be designed for the student to succeed and to be talented.  How about learning to be a genius?  But then it needs to be about inequality.  Education needs to strive to take the student to his /her highest level.  It is not equal up there.  It is not equal because it is about superiority.  How can genius be equal? Geniuses produce.  They are not "standard." Can they not be used as a guide to measure progress?

Women In Combat

I realize wars are not fought the same way they were fought in WW I, WW II,  Korea  and Vietnam.      There are some serious issues related to circumstances in war that need to be addressed.  This issue is not about equal opportunity for women in the military.  This issue is a bigger one.  It is about erasing gender differences so that one day everyone will be gender neutral.  This could only happen in the society of phony righteousness/fairness.  Either something is advantageous  or it is not.  I realize trends, fads, styles, customs and  values change.  But some things will never change.  Rules, regulations, laws and standards set by men cannot be perfect.  If something is imperfect, making it less perfect does not improve it.  For example: guidelines set up for war can never be perfect.  What can possibly be perfect about  guidelines for military forces in war, guidelines for killing others.  There are reasons for why you do not put women "up front."  it is not because the military is denying them some kind of "fair opportunity"  No way.  It is because it is not in the best interest of war time objectives.  I will finish my words by telling you that Jessica Lynch was a prisoner of war in the Middle East.  She was wounded.  She was raped and sodomized repeatedly.  This is what a female soldier fighting on the front lines can look forward to if she is captured.  Female soldiers sustained more casualties in Iraq in 2007 than male soldiers.  The high rate of soldiers who are single women and get pregnant  is one of the best kept secrets in the military.  Three times as many female soldiers than male soldiers were evacuated from combat zones.  Of those women, 74% were for pregnancy related issues. Is this how we are supposed to fight wars?  Do we send troops to a war zone to fight the enemy?  Or do we send troops there to run some sort of "social experiment"?

Prayers For School Children

Below is a copy of a letter I sent to the Bureau of the National School and Safety Services.  It is a suggestion to help improve the safety of our public schools, particularly the elementary schools.

 Ken,

Innocent children losing their lives is serious business. In particular, these children losing their lives at public school is even more serious. What I propose may seem odd, but that does not matter to me. People who murder children are filled with demons. Every morning, we need "prayer warriors" stationed on the sidewalks close to the schools. They need to pray for all of the children. The PWs do not need to touch the children, just pray for them......with power, power of the Holy Ghost. Every PW should be filled with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is Jesus inside of a person. There is absolutely nothing anywhere that is more powerful than the Holy Ghost. I am nobody to judge Christians, we all have our faults. However, We have this "treasure in earthen vessels," and we really need to use it. We are at war with these demons. Yes, this is war, but the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, and we need to be "strong in the Lord."

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph. 6: 12) There is much more.

The Lord bless you,
Robert Dominguez

Public Opinion Is Everything

Yes, I believe public opinion is important.  It is very important .  It can influence legislation in a very major way.  However, there are questions to be asked.  Does  public opinion carry more weight than public activism?  Or, does public activism necessarily reflect public opinion?  What if few are politically active but have a great impact?  Do they really affect public opinion, or do they just get a great deal of attention?  Here is what I think happens sometimes in our society:  Many people are busy just trying to survive, making a living, commuting, grocery shopping, and basically taking care of the essentials and do not have a great deal of spare time.  Do they have an opinion?  Yes.  However, many have chosen not to politicize it. "What happens, happens," they might say.   But I will say this about that:  When the public decides that it wants something, the media might get in the way, but the public will have its' way.  I am in good company.

"Public opinion is everything.  Private opinion is weak, but public opinion is almost omnipotent."

Harriet Beecher Stowe               (1811-1896) Abolitionist and author

He who molds opinion is greater than he who enacts laws."

The Oathkeepers

Several years ago, I received an email from a non partisan association of currently serving military, peace officers, fire-fighters and veterans who truly believe in fulfilling their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, "so help us God."  They call themselves the "Oathkeepers." I believe they took their oath seriously, ever realizing that enemies of the state can come from within as well as from outside of the nation. I also want to point out that  statement # 4, in accordance to its' context, "state of emergency"  does not refer to a condition that was caused by a natural disaster such as a hurricane,  flooding, a fire out of control, and the like. The following is the afirmation.

Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as "unlawful enemy combatants" or to subject them to military tribunal.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to "keep the peace" or to "maintain control."
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.
10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

Some Washington Post Letters

The following three short letters are comments I wrote in response to some articles and comments that were written in the Washington Post that I did not agree with.

"Bobbarnes, let us be reasonable, men having sex with men causes serious diseases and a host of psychological problems. It is simply not God's will. The precious, eternal Word of God states: " A man shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." Can we get an amen for the eternal truth?"

"What is a "religithug," I have heard of no such thing. Why don't you stop the name-calling, and rudeness. You/we live in a free country. Nobody is stopping you from being gay if that is what you choose to do. What you want is not just for people to be tolerant, you want validation. You want legitimacy. How can you get it when the Word of God prohibits homosexuality,  and calls it an abomination? So if I disagree with the GLBT lifestyle, this makes me a "religithug"? If you expect to live in a world where everybody agrees with what you do, you are not embracing reality. And all the name-calling you emit will not change your expectations."

"Because crime exists, and will continue to exist, it does not mean that we must legalize a criminal, horrendous, and barbaric act in order to "sanitize" the scenario. This is what we have done. It is tragic. Killing babies is not a solution. This is not China. This is the United States of America, the "land of the free and the home of the brave." A person must be free to be born and not be murdered in the womb by selfish and cowardly persons."

"Righteous, Man.......Righteous"

I remember when it was "cool" to say righteous.  I remember when gangsters had the word tattooed  on them because it was trendy in their world.  How did the "Righteous Bros." singing duet get their name?  They were heard on radio, and the disc jockey really liked the song.  He exclaimed: "That is righteous brother, really righteous!"  So Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield changed their names to the Righteous Brothers.

Let me talk about that word a little bit.   It is not really a word that describes anything on this planet.  It is a word that describes God and only God.  To use that word in general conversation would likely happen as a slang word.  The Bible clearly states that nobody is righteous.  Only God is righteous because only God is perfect and flawless.

Some other words that are not often used in general conversation are holy, angel, heaven, and eternity.  When they are used in general conversation, they are usually included as an exaggeration or metaphor.  For example:  "Your mom's chocolate cake is heavenly!"  "Don't talk to my neighbor, he'll talk to you for an eternity."  "Holy cow!" (cows are not holy, they never have been, just an exclamation)  Or, "My kids are perfect angels."  Yeah, right.

An Atheist and Sandy Hook

This is what an atheist might say to the families of those who lost their loved ones at the Sandy Hook massacre.

"I feel sorry for you.  I wish this had not happened, but I can't help you in any way.  I can't pray for God's comfort upon you because I don't believe that there is a God.  I can't tell tell you that they are in a better place.  I don't believe in heaven or hell.  I don't believe in a glorified body.  I believe that when you die, you die.  You are dead.  Therefore I can't tell you: "May they rest in peace."  Rest is only for those who are alive.  We are just matter.  We are alive for a period of time, and then we are no more.  I can't comfort you with any words from the bible.  I don't know any, and I don't believe what the bible says anyway.  Your children are dead because some guy shot them to death.  You'll never see them again."

Those Who Work Support Those Who Don't

I have talked about this before.  It is definitely not something new.  However, it does acquire new names.  I have heard it called the socialism, the welfare society, and the latest one: "the attitude of entitlement."  The term: "entitlement" is sure thrown around these days.  It is a definite reality.  What it amounts to is people believing that they are entitled to the many benefits that wealth brings.   I really have no problem with that last statement.  Unless...........people start thinking that the wealth of somebody else belongs to them.  On several occasions, I have had people get upset with me for telling them that the best way to get some money is to get a job.  Do a good job.  Keep your job.  When I was teaching school I was even unfairly accused of calling welfare recipients "lazy bums."  I did not use that term.  A student went home and told his mother that I did.  I was teaching a Social Science unit.  It was sociology.  This was many years ago.  I simply said:  "In our society,  those who work support those who don't work."  A student, (man he was troublesome!) whose divorced mom was on welfare, went home and told her about "the lazy bums."  She called the school.  I talked to her.  She was upset.  I calmed her down.  I told her exactly what happened.  She believed me.  She was apparently embarrassed that she was receiving welfare checks.  But I also told her that she should tell her son to not be telling lies about people.  That boy was on "my list," and I do not mean that in a cruel way.  One day he called another student a "piece of shit."  I said to him:  We do not talk that way in this classroom, I want to talk to your dad, I know he does not live with you.  I'm going to visit him at work."  I did visit his dad.  His dad was a dishwasher/busboy.  The manager of the restaurant allowed me to go back to the kitchen.  We had a short talk.  I do remember thanking him, I congratulated him for not being a lazy person.  I did not do it in a condescending manner........and he knew it.  I applaud "non-laziness."  Lazy people, "entitlement people," have been around a long, long time.  The quote below is proof.

"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and given him triumphal processions. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the new wonderful good society which shall now be Rome's, interpreted to mean more money, more ease, more security, and more living fatly at the expense of the industrious."

The Harbaugh Brothers

I predicted it was going to happen.  I do regret  that I did not write a blog about it.  I really wanted two NFL coaches, who are brothers, representing their respective conferences, to face each other in the Super Bowl.  I doubt many will disagree with me when I tell them that the greatest football played in the world is played in the NFL.  It is indeed an American sport.  I realize that soccer is played by more people (including children)  all over the world.  It should be.  All you need is something round  (preferably a rubber ball larger than 10 inches in diameter).  But I digress.  I am glad the Ravens won.  John Harbaugh is their coach.  He is 50 years old.  I want them to win the Super Bowl.  Jim Harbaugh coaches the 49ers.  He is 49 years of age.  (he is 49, the year he takes the 49ers to the Super Bowl)  I recognize that the 49ers are a great team, but I prefer that they not win this one.  They have already won  five. That is good enough for awhile.  John Harbaugh said this about his brother:  "He is a competitor.  I have been competing against him since he was born.  He is a handful."

To The Critics Of MLK

In several days the nation will celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King.  He was the greatest civil rights leader of recent history.  Every year someone will criticize and attempt to belittle his memory and contributions.   Yes,  Martin Luther King had faults.  Who doesn't?  Only Jesus Christ is a perfect man, as well as the perfect God. Nevertheless, MLK was definitely a man of immense courage and compassion.   He saw grave injustice and did something about it.  What he did has changed America for the better. The need to sit in the back of a bus because one is black is a law that did not need to exist. However, how did that law and others like it, cease to be? It did not happen instantly. It happened through united efforts. Who united those efforts? I have never considered MLK a perfect person. He was a man. He made mistakes. But why should we focus on his errors? The work he accomplished, the leadership he demonstrated is not something just any person can do. Yes, he had a dream. He saw a part of it come to fruition. He was then murdered for it. Some men are feared for their leadership. This is why they are assassinated.

Anti Fur Activism?

To me, much of the "protect the animals" activism is phony.  It is an attempt for people in entertainment (and others) to seem caring, compassionate and seemingly concerned for a better world.  For a long time, I have truly believed that if you want to make a better world, make yourself a better person.  Caring for animals is alright with me.  However, making a major deal in defense of animals is nothing but  a poor  substitute for true humanitarianism.  It is a convenient attempt to appear benevolent.  I am of the opinion that these people should find something else to be zealous about.  I also think that many of these people are really self-centered, and that animal protection activism is a form of therapy for them to justify themselves for their selfishness and lack of ability to connect with people.  I will defend the one who  fishes for sport and livelihood.  I will defend the one who hunts boar, deer, ducks, and other game if the dead animal is used to feed someone.  Animals are not people.  They are for food, work and entertainment.  Leave the circus alone.  Leave the trained whales, seals, bears, elephants, horses and other animals alone.  They provide much needed employment and entertainment.  Any person or animal who is trained to do a job must endure teaching and discipline. I am not proposing that animals be mistreated.  I am proposing that businesses that deal with animals be left alone.  They are providing goods, services and jobs.  They boost the economy.  They help families to be fed and clothed.  I would like to encourage all animal rights activists to truly get a life. I have a suggestion for you.  Since 1973, as I write these words, 56 million babies have been aborted.  Where is your outrage?  Where is your activism?  Are you more concerned about stray cats?

You Are A Chooser....Not A Loser

I know that some people have had some tough breaks.  I know that perhaps the childhood of many was not ideal.  I know that many of us have been mistreated.  I know that most of us were not born rich, handsome, beautiful, highly talented, gifted and the like.  But this does not mean that one cannot make good choices.  I know one needs to be taught. Some people have concluded  that they are losers.......big mistake.   They can change.  They need to want to change.  They  need to recognize that change is necessary.  That is the first step.  That is a big step.  After that, they need to want to change.  And that, to me, is the most important step.  After all is said and done:  YOU REALLY NEED TO WANT IT.  Start choosing.  You are a chooser, not a loser.

The Lord of Glory

Admiration, praise, honor, fame, and distinction.  Individuals seek it because each person is distinct, and often seeks to be distinguished.  It is important, it is very important.  People start seeking it at a very early age.   The term "glory," in the Christian tradition, is used to denote the manifestation of God's presence.  Prior to his arrest, Jesus said in the account of the Gospel of John 17: 4,5........"I have glorified you on earth.  I have finished the work which You have given me to do.  And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was."  Not long after He said this, He was crucified on a cross, like a common criminal.  What crime did He commit?  Jesus was accused of treason against the Roman government for declaring that He was a king, even though He stated that He was not a king of this world.  The crime of treason was a capital offense punishable by crucifixion.  He had committed no crime.  He was crucified anyway.  "The Lord of glory" was crucified. (see I Cor. 2: 8)  How many "Lords of glory" are there, anyway?  One? Two? Many?  There is just one.  Let us not get confused.  God is not the author of confusion.  Look:  "I am the Lord, that is my name; And my glory I will not give to another, Nor my praise to carved images."  (Isa. 42: 8)  So.....Who has been "named" Lord?  Name is a noun.  Name is a verb.  Jesus is the Lord of glory who came to earth in the form of a man.  This man came as a servant.  He is the Lord.  "One Lord, one faith, one baptism."  (Eph. 4: 5)  Yes, it is ironic that the Lord of glory came as a servant.  He did it to show us the importance of being humble.  There is much to say about this.  I must save it for another time.  "He who humbles himself shall be exalted, and he who exalts himself shall be humbled." ( Luke 14: 11)   Is there a greater example of humility for us than Jesus?   No.  Is there another Lord of glory?  No.  Is there a greater name than Jesus?  No.  Please check Philippians chapter two.

F. Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald is considered by many to be one of the greatest writers of the 20th. Century.  It is interesting to note that his parents noticed a writing ability in him early in his life.  They proceeded to send him to the best Catholic schools.  He attended Princeton University but he never graduated.  It is there where he learned to drink heavily.  He became an alcoholic.  He courted a wealthy woman.  He fell in love with her, but she would not marry him unless he became wealthy.  This drove him to work hard and write his best.  He wrote a masterpiece.  He earned a great deal of money from the novel.  The woman married him.  They lived the "high life," but it didn't last. He wrote more great works.  But he was under pressure.  His health failed him. His wife had a mental breakdown. He died of a heart attack on December 21, 1940 at the age of 44.  I do not necessarily agree with the way he lived his life, nor do I consider his alcoholism a sign of being a "free thinker," and I would have liked a discussion with him about the quote below.   Nevertheless,   he achieved literary greatness, and I give him his due.

"Either you think -- or else others have to think for you and take power from you, pervert and discipline your natural tastes, civilize and sterilize you."
 F. Scott Fitzgerald
(1896-1940)
