Celebrate Freedom, Don't Be A Fool

Today, I celebrate freedom.  Yes, I am free.  I am not free to break the laws of the land, if I do break the law, I must pay the price.  Obedience to the laws of the land is for me a guarantee of freedom.  I will continue to celebrate freedom by continuing to pursue my goals, aspirations and dreams.  I am not a young man.  Nevertheless, I enjoy freedom.  I cherish freedom.  My wants and desires are not complicated.  I pursue what I want. Yes, I have moral parameters.  How else can I live?  I am not a lower animal.  I am a human being.  My wants and desires are different than that of a cat or a dog.  I have nothing against the word "training."  To "train" children is a positive thing.  To train a dog is a positive thing.  To train a soldier is also a positive thing.  Training is good.  Guidelines are good.  Parameters and boundaries are good.  They are beneficial.  They preserve life.  I see them as "freedom producers."  I see them as "do what you want to do."   How can I do what I want to do if I am not safe?  How can I be free if I feel threatened?  I am not free if I am full of fear.  I am free to practice my freedom.  However, I am not free to be a fool.
If I become a fool, I lose my freedom.   If one becomes a fool, one  may lose much more than freedom.   Refuse to be a fool. There is too much at stake.  Foolishness is a "freedom  thief."
One more thing:  Pride can very often, produce foolishness.  Foolishness and pride are siblings.
