Get Up, Dress Up, Show Up

Get out of those pajamas, man. Take a shower, brush your teeth. Put on some clean clothes. Go find a job. There is one out there for you. IT MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU WANT, BUT IT IS BETTER THAN WHAT YOU HAVE! I know. Some may tell you: "Keep looking until you find what you want." Okay, but you might not find what you want if you do not have marketable skills. Get some marketable skills. How? Get up, dress up, show up. Put in a solid day's work. Rest. (if you have time, if not, do it later) And then......Get up, dress up, show up. And go where? To college, of course. You tell me: "What about my fun and good times." Convert your work and schooling into fun and good times. Be patient. Work hard. Things are always changing. Increase your options. Hard work and preparation produce greater opportunities. What does wishing and daydreaming produce? Thinking. Okay, so put your thoughts into action. Make some good choices. Why don't you start with this choice. GET UP, DRESS UP, SHOW UP!

"Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death"

On this day, 226 years ago, at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia, Patrick Henry presented his famous oration which included the words: "I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death." The irony of this is that it was declared in a church. Recently, in the City of National City, CA, the Mayor held his state of the City address/presentation. He was criticized by some, for holding the function in a large church to accomodate the public. I say this: If it was good enough for Patrick Henry, it is good enough for Mayor Ron Morrison.

Murder in Toulouse

They say it is the work of an Islam extremist. They say he was trained by Al Qaeda. He killed 3 children: two boys, ages 2 and 3, a girl, age 8 and a teacher age 30, who was also father of the 2 boys. May the murdered rest in peace. Why would someone commit such an atrocity? I know why. Toulouse, France is a clean, organized city. It represents civilization without tyranny. It is a place of freedom. It is a place of glorious history. The deed was done at a Jewish school. This represents education of/for the young. It represents a bright future. It represents enduring, successful and enlightening traditions. It represents the acquisition of wisdom and knowledge. It represents the things the killer will never have. He can never have them if he is possessed by a spirit of hatred that corrupts his mind. That spirit leads him to attempt to destroy the things he cannot have.
