My "Cure" For Old Age

As I see it: There is only one way to not grow old.......die young.  As far as I am concerned; dying young is not a reasonable option.  Reality is reality.  Growing old is a reality.  As I see it; growing old is cool.  No pressure.  Enjoy your old age.  Yes indeed.  Do things.  Read, travel, visit local places, visit friends. Whenever you can: advise the young.  Observe high school, college and professional sports.  Enjoy your meals at home, restaurants, parties, and wherever you are invited.  Go for enjoyable walks.  Enjoy conversations.  Try to stay away from angry and bitter people.  (unless you are trying to help them)  My "cure" for old age........enjoy your life.   The best is yet to come.

So.....What Is Your Point?

So......what is your point Peepsqueek? Israel must fight for survival. God is helping them. That is just the way it is. You say: "I am an atheist." Why? Everything that has been created has a creator. Everything that has been  built has a builder. All things manufactured have a manufacturer. It is foolish not to believe in God.  It is foolish and immoral to hate anyone. Why hate Israel?

The OTNC Reunion

On Saturday October 5th. 2019, a celebration of Old Town National City (OTNC) took place in Pepper Park on the Westside of National City.  What a time we had!  It was so special to see people I grew up with and went to elementary, junior high and high school with.  Most of them I seldom see anymore.  We did much reminiscing.  There was much laughter and story-telling.  What a pleasant time it was.  When a person is old and starts talking about those days with others with similar experiences, it is heart-warming.  I was asked to do the opening prayer.  There was music, dancing, food and above all.........reminiscing.  We had a good time.  I look forward to the next OTNC celebration.  It was pretty special.

Here Comes September!

September.......you are 6 days away!  You are pretty special to me.  You represent new things.  You represent  new beginnings.  You represent new faces, new places and new experiences.  You represent the Summer taking its last "shots."   Sometimes with a heatwave or two.  But you also represent Autumn.  (at least technically)  Here comes September!   Just like a new chapter of an interesting book!  For some, school has already started.  Books, backpacks, lunches, new clothes,  new friends (probably)) and good times.  Yes.....go ahead and dream!  Students,  have fun!  And if you have just started something new like band, algebra, or tackle football.  Do well!  Work hard! Celebrate Freedom, Don't Be A Fool

Today, I celebrate freedom.  Yes, I am free.  I am not free to break the laws of the land, if I do break the law, I must pay the price.  Obedience to the laws of the land is for me a guarantee of freedom.  I will continue to celebrate freedom by continuing to pursue my goals, aspirations and dreams.  I am not a young man.  Nevertheless, I enjoy freedom.  I cherish freedom.  My wants and desires are not complicated.  I pursue what I want. Yes, I have moral parameters.  How else can I live?  I am not a lower animal.  I am a human being.  My wants and desires are different than that of a cat or a dog.  I have nothing against the word "training."  To "train" children is a positive thing.  To train a dog is a positive thing.  To train a soldier is also a positive thing.  Training is good.  Guidelines are good.  Parameters and boundaries are good.  They are beneficial.  They preserve life.  I see them as "freedom producers."  I see them as "do what you want to do."   How can I do what I want to do if I am not safe?  How can I be free if I feel threatened?  I am not free if I am full of fear.  I am free to practice my freedom.  However, I am not free to be a fool. 
If I become a fool, I lose my freedom.   If one becomes a fool, one  may lose much more than freedom.   Refuse to be a fool. There is too much at stake.  Foolishness is a "freedom  thief."
One more thing:  Pride can very often, produce foolishness.  Foolishness and pride are siblings.

Just Be Humble

Do great things.  Just be humble.  I know it is not always easy, but good things do not always come easy.  Do your best to be  humble.  It represents greatness.  It seems ironic.  However,  I truly believe that greatness produces humility and humility produces greatness  Genuine humility is a great thing.  Go ahead.......do great things.  Let your great works speak for themselves.  Glory comes.  Don't chase it.  Don't brag about anything.  Be a humble person.    Just be humble.  Go ahead.......do great things.  Just be humble.  Make it a high priority.  Just be humble.  Work, create, endure, produce, compete, surpass, excel.  Work hard!  Come out on top!  Just be humble.  Glory will come.  There is no need to chase it.  Just be humble.

I am unwilling to argue with performance. I am unwilling to deny accomplishment. It is what it is. God does things the way He chooses to do them. He chose a people for Himself. (He needed to start somewhere) I am not a Jew. I refuse to hate a Jew. I refuse to hate anyone. If I have ambitions/dreams, and they go unfulfilled. Generally speaking, I have myself to blame, and only myself. Is there a substitute for hard work and determination? Is there a substitute for faith in, love for, and obedience to, the almighty God? Is there a substitute for the Word of God?















Keep On Trying. You Cannot Lose.

Keep on trying.  Do not give up.  Pursue that goal.  Ask God to help you. "Every good gift comes from God."  Is it God's will?  Make sure that it is.  Once you realize that it is God's will.  Please continue.  You cannot lose.  You can only win.  Keep on trying.  Keep on trying.  And I do not mean "half try."  Nothing will stop you.  Use wisdom.  Be patient.  Wait.  Prepare.  Execute.  Win.  Rejoice.  You cannot lose.

Go For It, You Can't Lose, You Must Execute

Go for it, you can't lose.  Prepare, prepare, prepare.  The time comes when it is time to quit preparing and start executing.  You have not just practiced.  You have not just prepared.  You have practiced right.  You have prepared right.  Go for it.  The time for hesitation has ceased.  Hesitation has it's place.  Practice/preparation have their places.  It is time to execute.   Do it.  Win.  Rejoice. Celebrate.  You are a winner.  Why are you a winner?  Because you prepared at your highest level.  Were you a winner before you executed?  Some say you were.  I say you were not.  You are not a winner until you demonstrate it.  You must execute.  Of course preparation has it's important place.  But you must execute to win.  And I do not refer to athletic contests only.

Something In April

It is already April 11th and I have not written anything.  Well, to be honest, this is the month that people mention "April Fools," and its day.  The word"fool" is an interesting term.  It actually has around 8 definitions. It is both a noun and a verb.  Add a suffix and it becomes an adjective. However, I will deal with only one definition.  It is important.  It is the following: "A person lacking in common powers of understanding."  To me, this is serious.  The following is even more serious:
"The fool has said in his heart, there is no God."  Does not everything made have a maker?  I sense the urgency to repeat what I have quoted. This time with its appropriate reference;

Psalm 14:1 (the first phrase of the verse)  "The fool has said in his heart there is no God."
Atheism is serious business.  It is serious foolishness.

Reche Caldwell "And That's All On Me"

Donald Reche Caldwell, Jr.was picked in the second round of the 2002 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers.  He played four years for them.  He then signed with the New England Patriots.  He became Tom Brady's main target.  He then played for the Redskins. After that he played for the Rams. He made a few mistakes and his professional football career ended in 2008.  He was an outstanding football player.  I write about him because I appreciate his honesty.

The Basis of Our Political System

I am in favor of any political system that acknowledges and practices the will of the people.  There are no perfect political systems in existence.  The United States has a good political system.  There is always room for improvement.  Improve, improve, improve is a good motto for people of all ages.  The following quote by George Washington alludes to the importance of improvement.  Of course he refers to our political system.  However, I am convinced that it is also applicable in our personal lives.

February? It Is A Good Month

Critics of America..........You need a little bit of February in you.  It is a good month.  Why?  Well, today is The second of February.  It is Groundhog Day.  The groundhog announces the coming of Spring, which will arrive in about 46 days.  Spring?  Yes, a pretty special season.

What else?  The 12th, it is the birthday of the greatest President this country ever had.  Of course, it is just my opinion, but the works of Abraham Lincoln are hard to match.  The Gettysburg address is one of the greatest speeches ever made anywhere and during any era.  And the words "with malice toward none and charity (love) for all," ring the bells of great prose.

What about February 14th?  Look out for that one! It is the day that celebrates love! Love is eternal.  "The greatest of these is love." (1 Cor. 13:13)  In other words; there is nothing greater than love.  Apparently, love is pretty special.  I am glad there is a day that is dedicated toward helping us remember that love is very deserving of celebration.

We do not live in a perfect Country.  But I am convinced we live in a great Country.  It is a Country that emphasizes freedom, fairness and opportunity.  Our Federal (or national) government has developed a Constitution, and has included allowances in it for change.  We do not have tyrants, dictators, or kings to direct, lead and guide our great Nation.  We have a President.  And with the help of many in accordance with the system of the Federal government.  He leads the Nation.  President's Day (Feb. 18) is set aside to celebrate the office of The President of the United States.

February 22nd is George Washington's birthday.  He was born on February 22, 1732.  He is known as the "Father Of Our Country."  He was a hero, of the American Revolution.  General George Washington became President George Washington after the War.  The very first President of our great Nation.  He served two terms, from 1789 to 1797.

There you have them.  Five holidays in the shortest month of the year.  Get some "February in you," especially some "February 14th."  Go for it.
