A Quote From The ISNA

Here is a quote from Muzamil Siddiqi of the Islamic Society of North America. (ISNA) Please take note that we have not heard a word from any LGBT groups to protest his words. I wonder why. Would they have said something if a Christian group had said something similar?

“Homosexuality is a moral disorder. It is a moral disease, a sin and corruption… No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education. There are many reasons why it is forbidden in Islam. Homosexuality is dangerous for the health of the individuals and for the society. It is a main cause of one of the most harmful and fatal diseases … It is the most un-natural way of life. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of family life.”

Freedom Is Never Complete

How can it be satisfactory when it is always evolving? It is possible that it can evolve into absurdity and disaster. It is possible that it can involve into dangerous situations. It is possible that it can evolve into anarchy. We are hungry for it. We desire it. But it can sure interfere with peace. It can sure interfere with moral parameters. It can sure interfere with life and limb. Freedom is not possible when you have too many ignorant and/or immoral people living in a society. Freedom is not complete. It is unfinished. It still needs a "great deal of work."

My Advice To Jason King

This is tragic. I too, was a drunk driver. Many accidents. Many arrests. I thank God, I never killed anyone. (including myself) Rest in peace, Annie and Madison. You are no longer alive because a drunk driver, driving on the wrong side of the freeway, hit you head on. He did not die. He has some serious injuries, however. Jason, I wish you a speedy recovery. Some may say to you: "Hey man, don't drink and drive!" I have better advice. Don't ever drink again. It was not your truck that caused the accident. It was you....influenced by the liquor. Do you think liquor causes problems only when you are driving? Think again. Ask God to help you.

Forgive, It Is Best

Forgive. It is best. Do not punish yourself for a past injustice. What you are doing is actually "repunishing" and repeating the offense against yourself. Do not be held hostage by the past. Take the burden off. You are not "getting even" by refusing to forgive. You might think you are, but you are not. By not forgiving, you have allowed something to control you. You have lost a certain amount of freedom. Forget about it. Vengeance does not belong to you......or me. Forgive, it is best.

Anne And Madison

I don't usually write about these things in any of my blogs, but what a terrible loss. It happened early Saturday morning on May 16th, 2015. Ironically, it was Armed Forces Day. Jason King, a young Marine, was drunk. He was driving the wrong way on SR-163 in San Diego. He crashed his Ford F-350 truck into a Toyota Prius, killing two medical students who had just finished their second year of medical school at UCSD. Anne Baldock was 24 years of age, and Madison Cornwell was 23. Both young women were highly respected by all who knew them. They were well-liked. Too bad this happened. I relate to this because I too, was a drunk driver. Many accidents. Many arrests. I am so grateful to God that I never killed anyone (including myself) I did not learn my lesson until the age of 32. I was a hard-core alcoholic, definitely nothing to be proud of. However, I thank God that I have not had a drink in 40 years. May God comfort the friends and family of Anne and Madison.

Who Is "The Country" ?

I think Mark Twain was accurate regarding many of his statements about society and government. However, such accuracy was, many times, idealistic. Yes, maybe some of his criticisms were true, but too often he offered no solutions. He enjoyed observing and reporting. I think he was a genius. Certainly a great writer. I agree with the following quote. However, it is very idealistic. Yes, people in government are servants. They are very well paid "servants." And some of them have a great deal of authority over us. The following is the quote I discuss:

"For in a Republic, who is 'the country?' Is it the Government which is for the moment in the saddle? Why, the Government is merely a servant -- merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn't. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them." Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens) (1835-1910)

Sacrifices Are Necessary

Sacrifices are necessary. People who think they can be successful without making sacrifices are deceiving themselves. Perhaps they have put too much emphasis on their dreams and abilities, without taking into account the importance of having patience and working hard. Whenever you see a famous, wealthy and charismatic person, please remember: That person had to pay some dues. That person had to work hard for what he or she has. Perhaps there are exceptions, but they are rare. The abilities to work hard, be quiet when necessary, be consistent, listen to helpful advice, and a determination to succeed are essential. They are much more essential than just an ego that dreams and pretends. Do you not have freedom? Use it then. You say you want power? You have it already. You have the power of freedom. Go for it! Just remember.........sacrifices are necessary.
