Life And Liberty

I am persuaded that it is nothing but common sense.  Life comes with a desire for liberty.  How else can it be?  The desire for liberty is the cause for tears with small children, when  their desires for certain liberties are not fulfilled.  Liberty is usually the cause of serious arguments between a teenager and his or her parents.  Liberty is desired.  Liberty is attractive.  Liberty is desirable.  Liberty is pleasurable, exciting and adventurous.  Even an infant desires liberty.  Even an infant is a chooser.  You cannot have one without the other, unless you are insane.........maybe not even then.  I think Thomas Jefferson said it best.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."         Thomas Jefferson
